Kasuutiniq — Qikiqtani Teachers’ Conference (Nunavut Teachers Association, 2010).
Know: In support of the conference steering committee and NTA staff, we provided conference consulting, coordination and logistical support for a professional development conference for Nunavut teachers.
Collaborate: We worked closely with the Nunavut Teachers Association, an association representing all teachers, principals and educational administrators in Nunavut.
Connect: The project goal was to hold a professional improvement conference for teachers and educators in the Qikiqtani region.
Act: We coordinated all aspects of the conference including theme, agenda and session development; speaker selection and correspondence; exhibitor coordination; suppliers; communications; registration; travel and accommodations. We went above and beyond the RFP requirements by providing detailed session plans to guide on-site staff through the various conference events.
Succeed: The conference was hailed as the most successful event in years, featuring over 170 break-out sessions and 350 participants. Participant feedback was extremely positive, with many delegates encouraging a move to annual events rather than the current tri-annual schedule.
